Evacuated Tube Transportation Technology - ET3 (Extended Version)

Discuss this video in detail at AlienScientist Forums: www.alienscientist.com This video discusses the step from Type 0 to Type 1 Civilization and the ET3. This is an extension of the original video that ads TWO and Half minutes of content to the ET3 video. The other material concerning the Orwell society will be reworked as its own video in order to better explain a wider perspective of the big picture. DISCLAIMER: The views of AlienScientist do not neccesarily represent the views of ET3. I knew about ETT way before I realized the seriousness of humanity's current situation I think its important to show your support for the movements out there, but don't tie yourself down to any one thing. Be YOUR OWN movement, Do YOUR OWN research, and don't just rely on what anyone (including me) says. If you think ETT is a great idea, I recommend becoming a licensee and begin joining the effort to get the idea out into the mainstream. I am a supporter of a highly efficient, high speed, global transportation system because I have seen what it has done for cities and commerce in London and New York City who's subway systems transport millions daily. I've seen what the Interstate Highway System and the Trans-Continental Railroad have done for the USA London Underground: www.youtube.com Trans-Continental Railroad (Modern Marvels): www.youtube.com Engineers have already proven they can do the "impossible" (as long as the science of what they are trying to do isn't flawed) The Science of ...

Online Tutoring Companies Use New Desktop Video Conferencing Technology

The tutoring industry is a quickly growing field, but typically it is fragmented with individual tutors teaching out of their homes. Students have to travel to the tutor's home or sometimes the tutor will travel to the student's home. Weather and traffic can also be problematic for tutoring sessions occurring on time. With the advent of the Internet, online tutoring sites have popped up, but many have not flourished because of a number of reasons, one of which is that the student and teacher have not been able to see each other, like in a typical face to face session. Several tutoring companies have developed a new desktop video teleconferencing services that solve this problem.

With this new technology, the student and teacher each use their webcams and the Internet to broadcast their live video to each other. Now, you have face to face interaction and the tutor can tell if the student is paying attention or is distracted by other interferences. The tutor can also read the facial cues of the student to see if he or she has a puzzled look or any other cues that indicate retention or confusion. The video feed also allows the student and teacher the ability to look at books, homework, or SAT/ACT preparation materials.

This new desktop video technology has a built in whiteboard so the teacher and student can write math formulas or English sentences to assist in the learning process. Homework assignments can be scanned by the student and downloaded to the teacher so that both can see the materials. The teacher can also download study guides and materials to the student for review. The technology also has a recording and playback feature that allows the student and teacher to record their sessions for later review.

Desktop video technology can be used in a class setting with videos being displayed for up to 15 students on everyone's screen. Also, with the technology, VOIP or voice over Internet protocol can be used or a conference bridge can be used for a richer voice experience. With the VOIP, both the student and teacher require a microphone and speakers.

With university admission requirements getting tougher and tougher, demands upon students to make better grades or score higher on their SAT or ACT tests is increasing every year. In order to improve these measurements, students are studying longer and using more tutors to assist them in difficult courses or in preparation of the SAT/ACT tests. Students are turning to more online tutoring companies to help them when traditional tutors fall short or are not available. Desktop video conferencing technology is making the learning experience more "like being there" and many tutoring companies are in the forefront of the technology.
